Origin This game was invented in 2000 by Dan Troyka, and was been awarded with the first prize in the Annual Game Design Competition organized by About Board Games, Abstract Games magazine and Strategy Gaming Society. The constraint for the games in the competition was that they had to be played on a 8x8 board. Description It is played on a checkered 8x8 board, but different board sizes may be used. Each player have 16 pawns (white and black repectively) placed at the start of the game on the nearest two rows.
Objective The goal is to reach the opponent´s back rank with any of the pawns. How the game goes on The player who uses the white pieces starts the game, and both players play alternatively. Pawns advance one cell in every move, diagonally or vertically. Captures are made by moving the pawns in the same way, landing on the cell occupied by the captured enemy pawn. The only restriction is that vertical moves are not allowed to capture, only diagonal advances are possible. Play now Play online with some other players | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
